Partying at Etude House

So last Thursday night, a few friends and I attended Etude House’s Grand Launch party. As you may know, I’m a huge fan of this Korean make-up/skin care brand. Its products are packaged in cute designs, work really well, and are nicely priced. Also, Etude House shops have pink interiors that remind one of a little girl’s dream bedroom, which is probably why I like going there. It doesn’t hurt that its image model is Park Shin Hye (of the drama “He’s Beautiful”) whom I adore.

The invitation (sent out to Pink Membership Card holders) said attire was pink and white. Not my usual style, but I managed to sneak in a little pink.

At Ocean World

My friends R and L from Zamboanga City are staying over for a few days at my place. They absolutely insisted that we go to Ocean Park. I had no idea what that was, but I agreed to go anyway. Wow, it turned out to be a really fun experience. I fell in love with all the fish. And the crocodiles. They actually had to drag me away from the shark tank when it was time to go.

This is me with the sting ray. I’m calling him Bob.

WordCamp awesomeness

After missing the registration window for WordCamp last year, I was finally able to get in this year (thanks to all those who cancelled their registrations and allowed us waitlisters to get in, yay!). The talks were mostly excellent, and I learned a whole lot of new things about server optimization, CMS, blogging ethics, and social networking, among others. Also, I got to meet Matt Mullenweg, the founding developer of WordPress.

Yes, I’m up

So I just absent-mindedly poured cold water into my coffee cup. This whole waking-up-before-nine-am thing is clearly not for me. Except I got some news last night which got me so excited I decided to go to bed ‘early’ at 2am and continue work in the morning. So here we are. On the other hand, […]

The essays in After the Storm were mostly written in the midst of and immediately after the recent typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. The writers share their experiences of the typhoons, their insights and reflections, their hopes and aspirations. Long after the news media has moved on to the next big headline, After the Storm hopes to stand as a written record to remind everyone that this happened. We were there. We are still here.

Kick-ass nails make me better at my job, I swear

So CareerCamp is coming to Enderun Colleges tomorrow. Outfit, check. Matching purple umbrella, check. Nails?

nail art

(I did it myself, with the help of Etude House nail art I got for something like PhP80/$1.78. The nail polish was a little over PhP 90/$2 at The Face Shop. And yes, I realize I’m never going to be a hand model.)

Gaeran mari!

So I finally found a korean place for my gaeran mari fix. It’s ridiculous, really. I saw someone eating it a few times on TV, and I thought it looked really good. Then I saw this place at the food court that had it, and oh my, it tasted just as good as it looked.

Allowing myself a little hope

Let’s face it, we Pinoys have been burned a lot of times. Presidents make a lot of promises, but things just get worse and worse. The presidential hopefuls I like never actually get there, and right now I’m seriously considering looking for a new country.

You had me at mudpie

So long, my so-called diet. I promise to make up for it with an extra hour on the treadmill, ok?
