I’ve been blogging a lot this past week while I’ve been traveling. Not here, but in the private blog I share with some of my closest friends. I write about even the smallest things, and post lots of photos. Someone asked me why do I spend an hours online after getting back to the flat blogging about the day’s events, like it couldn’t wait till I get back to Manila. I said I wasn’t sure. There was something different about writing while away from home.
Then today, I mentioned to R that the only personal snail mail I ever get is the postcards he sends me while he’s abroad. Then I realized why my other friends don’t send me postcards — it’s because they write about their travels online, and post photos of what they’ve been doing and where they’ve been.
Blogs are the new postcards. Fancy that.
